In today’s time, power cuts and the use of high-power devices are becoming more common, especially in Indian homes and small businesses. Because of this, the demand for inverter batteries is rising quickly. Earlier, people mostly used lead-acid batteries, which were heavy and required regular maintenance. But now, technology has improved. People are moving towards lithium batteries, which are safer, lighter, and longer-lasting. To match this trend, Microtek has launched its new lithium battery, specially designed for 12V inverters.

Microtek launches lithium battery for inverters

This battery is not only four times lighter but also offers up to 10 years of life and can handle a load of up to 2kW. However, one thing to note is that this battery is compatible only with selected Microtek inverters.

Advanced Technology and Impressive Capacity

The new Microtek lithium battery is based on Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) technology. This is considered one of the safest and most durable battery types available today. It delivers a nominal voltage of 12.8V and a capacity of 100Ah, which is equal in performance to a 150Ah lead-acid battery.

Microtek has used prismatic LiFePO4 cells inside this battery to increase its durability. The company claims that if the battery is used with 80% Depth of Discharge (DOD), it can last over 4,000 charge cycles, meaning it could easily run for 10 years under proper usage conditions.

Fast Charging and Powerful Output

One of the strongest features of this battery is its 150A max discharge current, which gives it the ability to run up to 2kW load at once. So, if you are using heavy appliances or high-load machines, this battery can handle the demand easily.

At 2kW load, the battery provides a backup of around 30 minutes, which is three times better than a lead-acid battery, which usually lasts only 10 minutes at the same load. When it comes to charging, the battery supports up to 50A current, allowing it to fully charge in just 2 to 3 hours. However, for better battery life, Microtek recommends charging it at 20A, which takes around 6 hours.

Lightweight Design, Affordable Price, and Other Benefits

The Microtek lithium battery is also very lightweight. While a traditional 150Ah lead-acid battery weighs around 50 kg, this lithium battery weighs just 12 kg. That makes it four times lighter, making it easy to carry, install, and move.

Let’s compare the main features of Microtek’s lithium battery and a standard lead-acid battery:
